<p>After a fun and demanding career in international agribusiness, I needed to find something that helped me appreciate the small and simple things of life. I had dabbled in taking photos for numerous years and finally decided I could do more. It would be something that I liked and help me focus on the present. I like the close-up part of landscape photography, with an emphasis on flowers, and the odds and ends of whatever I can find. Chasing a few sunrises helps me get with the day and listening to the birds awaken with their songs brings a lot of peace. </p>

“I am a self taught photographer and editor (artist) and I am always looking for inspiration and compositions as I am driving down the road or going for walks. I like things that are common and about everyday life. I suppose flowers draw me in after working in the flower seed industry for a few years. Like I posted on Instagram - "Just and old clod kicker trying to develop some art skills".”

The Process

There is no magic to my work. I use the common rules of the photography process. However, if I can break the rules to get a good image, it is quickly done. I only have a zoom lens on my camera, except for when the lens baby lenses are being used. There is always a diopter available to help me get in closer when needed. The editing technique has been the hardest for me to learn. Finally when I got the software that suites my style was when I was able to advance and improve this process. I have learned to add a lot of texture to my work, inorder to seperate it from others.
